Twins fall to Tigers 7-2

The Detroit Tigers challenged the the Minnesota Twins yesterday at Comerica Park with the Tigers triumphant 7 to 2. It was a thrilling night of baseball that anyone with Tigers tickets will definitely cherish. It’s not too late to take in a game so get your baseball tickets soon!

Tigers pitcher Eddie Bonine (4.46 ERA) got the win, while Carl Pavano (5.07 ERA) took the loss for the Twins. Eddie Bonine went 5 innings for the Tigers, allowed 7 hits, no home runs and 2 earned runs with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Tigers was Zach Miner (4.12), Brandon Lyon (2.96), and Fernando Rodney (4.35). The Twins’s starter Carl Pavano went 4.2 innings, allowed 7 hits, no home runs and 7 earned runs with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Jesse Crain (4.59), Ron Mahay (4.38), Jon Rauch (3.74), and Francisco Liriano (5.84) also pitched for the Twins. With the win, Bonine’s record goes to 1-1, while Pavano falls to 13-12.

In addition to the 7 runs, the Tigers managed 9 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Tigers, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Curtis Granderson had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Twins didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Matt Tolbert could not get much going at the plate as he left 4 runners on base. The Twins mustered 2 runs, 9 hits and no errors.

Umpiring duties were performed by Marvin Hudson, Angel Hernandez, Randy Marsh and Lance Barksdale. There were 34,775 Tigers ticket holders in attendance at Comerica Park.

The win puts the Tigers at a record of 85-73, still leading their division, while the loss brings the Twins to 82-76, (3 games behind first place in the division). The Twins get a chance for revenge tomorrow. There are still plenty of tickets available so take a look.
