Fu-Te Ni (2.70), Fernando Rodney (4.35), and Ryan Perry (4.03) also pitched for the Tigers. With the win, Hudson’s record goes to 1-1, while Jackson falls to 13-8. Matt Thornton earned the save for the White Sox, bringing his saves up to 3.
Carlos Quentin provided much of the offense for the White Sox with an incredible 4 runs batted in. In addition to the 8 runs, the White Sox managed 10 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the White Sox, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Curtis Granderson had the most hits for the Tigers (3), followed by Ramon Santiago (2). Brandon Inge could not get much going at the plate as he left 5 runners on base. The Tigers mustered 4 runs, 7 hits and one error.
