Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander (3.41 ERA) got the win, while Carlos Carrasco (9.00 ERA) took the loss for the Indians. Also pitching for the Tigers was Bobby Seay (3.88), and Brandon Lyon (2.90). Brandon Inge had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. Travis Hafner had the most hits for the Indians (3), followed by Andy Marte (2), and Shin-Soo Choo (2). The Indians mustered 5 runs, 12 hits and one error.

The win puts the Tigers at a record of 82-70, at the top of their division, while the loss brings the Indians to 61-91, (21 games behind the division leader).
